Alright, I’ve finally got access to this precious DVD, been wanted to watch this so much. The all famous 50 Cent, oh man! Another rapper on cinema screen since Eminem.
As usual, typical gangsta rapper story, full of violence. Kids below 15, this is not for you. When I first heard, 50 Cent has got a bullet scar on his left cheek, which the bullet was through his cheek and into the mouth, I knew this guy’s got a lot of stories to tell. This movie talks about his backgroud, his family, his love, his brotherhood, and all his bad deeds.
Marcus was from a single parent family which the father remained unknown. His mother was a drug dealer in the neighborhood. He inherited the family business after his mother was brutally murdered. He always knew he was after something, he had a book with him, he wrote down words whenever he felt something.
Story went on, he got big in the gang, earned himself a brand new mercedez s500, met with his dream girl since childhood. Everything was looking good until he got ratted out by his senior in the gang. Got in jail for drug pocession, when he got out, decided to live a different life as a rapper, overcame many obstables and there he was. He made it big time.
I was not very satisfied after watching this movie, because there wasn’t very much music in the movie. Yeah, it’s 50 Cent, I was expecting a lot of rap music as the background music, but hmm, too bad. Overall, this is still a great movie worths watching. In my opinion of course. I like rap music, Eminem, 50 Cent, Rular Rah, Notorious B.I.G, and more.
I’m not sure whether this gangsta rap culture is being influencial in other countries in Asia or not, but it certainly has impact in Malaysia. From dressings, hand signs, to language essence. You sure can see some wannabes around you.
Okay, that’s all for now. Stay tuned for my feedback for other movies. By the way, the movie “Lake House” is in local theatre. Let’s see if I can make it to watch this weekend.
