AmaroK on my Debian KDE Desktop.
Hehe, being a music lover, I must share this to you all.
This is by far my most beloved mp3 player on Linux. It supports various file formats(mp3, ogg, wma, and more), and most of all, the multi-bytes characters(simplified chinese) are displayed flawlessly! It has also many more amazing features, let me list out for you.
1. Music Collection.
Just point it to your media storage directory, your files will be scanned in no time and presented to you. If you name your files in certain formats like [album - artist - song title.mediatype], amarok will sort out all the artists for you, alphabetically. How sweet!
2. Playlists.
This is the most interesting part of AmaroK. After you’ve built your music collection, you can manipulate the entries by using Smart Playlist, Dynamic Playlist, or your own defined Playlists.
3. Radio Streams
You can also connect to any Online Radio Streaming servers to listen to the songs they playback. By default, AmaroK comes with 20+ entries of Cool Streams, you can test them one by one.
4. Podcasts
I’m quite new to this topic, but AmaroK has this feature.
There are more to tell about AmaroK, but I strongly recommend you try it out yourself. To grab AmaroK, simply open your package manager and search for this name. Alternatively, download at this page http://amarok.kde.org/.
