PC Jacking, LOL!

Now this is amusing, and I’m touched, as a Linux user and supporter. I’ve been spending my free time blogging, mostly on Linux topics. I know it’s not going to draw a lot of attentions, but I still go on. Why? Because I love the idea, and I enjoy using this free piece of OS, consists of efforts from countless volunteers. Linux in another term, is the most user oriented OS. People who are using it, are the ones who modify/improve it.

Now this guy, Manu Cornet as he stated on his page, has a very different approach for promoting Linux. In short, he walks in a computer selling shop, boots up one of the many PCs there with Knoppix live CD, leaves some copies on the desk, and walks away.

On the free given CD, there’s this message handwritten.

“This is a Linux CD to protest against the forced sale of Microsoft Windows with every computer bought in this store. This CD leaves the computer totally unaffected. Just take the CD out of the drive and reboot to let the computer back in its original state.”

Well, my two thumbs up for him. Regardless of the arguements found on digg.com. People need to know there are ALTERNATIVES besides Microsoft Windows, people seriously need to know!

Another quote from WaterDragon at digg.com discussion page of this topic.

Computer manufacturrers supply Winblows, and charge you for it.

Then, when your computer gets too full of junk, and is paralyzed, you are supposed to go and buy a new computer, with a another copy of Winblows = more money for the retailers and MicroSuck!

That is part of the scam of Winblows/Microsuck! Don’t tell folks how to clean up and secure their OS, leave a lot of vulnerabilities in it, and then…sell them a new one and begin all over again.

Who loses? The uninformed buyer.

Well this happens, right? Give me your two cents!
