Firefox Extension: ChatZilla

I wonder if any of you reading this still IRC? I was looking for free IRC client for my laptop, on Windows XP. The first came in my mind was Xchat, since it has been serving on my Debian box for years now. Unfortunately, they are charging $19.99 USD for Windows version, I wonder why is it. Plan B, ChatZilla. I used to have this along with Mozilla suite on Debian last time, did a bit of looking and yes, it is available as an extension of Firefox on Windows.

Get the extension here. “Install Now” button should do all the work. ChatZilla

Pretty simple interface, I should be able to get along with it. It reminds me of my old days with mIRC, a lot of fun with the scripts. ChatZilla has most of the usual functions as other irc clients. Namely -

  1. Time Stamp
  2. Color Formatting
  3. Command Alias
  4. Logging

Do you have any other free IRC client to recommend? Please share with me.

Lastly, I would like to recommend you an awesome IRC network here, irc.freenode.net. Many decent people in the network sharing information about technology. I join #debian and #phpmyadmin frequently to ask questions and help others out. You should really check it out.
