Monday, May 28th, 2007

Looking at other blogs, they seem to have quick links to other sites with wonderful stuffs. I am going to introduce you some nice stuffs from now on.

  1. Freebies Round-Up: Icons, Buttons and Templates, by Smashing Magazine. If you are into web design, this is something you don’t want to miss for sure. Desktop icons are also available too.
  2. 7000 Royalty-Free Stock Photos, by Stock Vault. Great resource for stock photos.
  3. 20 WordPress themes that don’t disappoint, by share.clarklab.net. WordPress themes, bloggers might want to see this.
  4. 25 Code Snippets for Web Designers, by Tutorial Blog. Again, work related, but these are really useful.
  5. ‘Feeling Sexy’ Expressed in Photos, by Crestock.com. A photo competition, photographers should look into this.

That’s all for now, stay tuned for more coming updates.

Get the real facts, Microsoft.

Monday, May 28th, 2007

If you have read my previous post “Microsoft is Tripping“, you should more or less getting the idea that Microsoft is seeing Open Source Software as its No.1 threat in the market. Until now I have not heard any news about the infringement case, most likely they’ve learned the fact that they do not have a case unless they are willing to publish the “possible” alleged patents.

Today, when I stumbled upon this stunning page of Microsoft, I can’t help but to share it with all of you. I’m not going to make the link active here, please copy and paste if you may.

Personal Security Tips

Monday, May 28th, 2007

I have received a very informative forwarded email from Jimmy, thanks to him again. This email is written in both English and Mandarin, credit to the original poster. These tips are noted during a speech by Pat Malone, who was a body guard for famous figures like Farrah Fawcett and Sylvester Stallone. He also teaches hand-to-hand combat in various agencies.

Security has been always a major social issue in Malaysia, you read horrible news on a daily basis. I hope this forwarded email will help, at least to build more awareness around friends.

This is how this blog looks like in IE6, and Sorry, I’m not going to fix it.

Monday, May 28th, 2007

For once, let me be stubborn. I apologize if you are using Internet Explorer 6 or prior. This is how my blog looks in IE6.
Nixser.com In IE6

While all other browsers, namely Firefox, Opera, Konquerer, and even IE7 are displaying the boxes correctly, IE 6 and prior are not. It is a known fact that Microsoft has been shipping defected Internet Explorer(prior to IE 7) together with their operating system. Many of you just do not know that.

Upgraded to WordPress 2.2

Monday, May 28th, 2007

Hello all, I feel embarrassed when I see the traffic of this blog still maintaining at the same level while I wasn’t able to update it on a weekly basis. It’s either my pillar posts(those in the popular entries) still pumps in all the traffics, or there’s really someone reading this blog. Either way, I feel bad. I’ll try to squeeze out more time for this blog, life’s being a bitch recently. I wish you all are doing fine if you are reading this.

I have just updated WordPress to version 2.2, this is a mandatory upgrade which means the 2.1.X branch will not be continued. Bloggers, you might want to upgrade your WordPress blog as soon as you can because this version consists of 244 bugs fixed.
