Get the real facts, Microsoft.
If you have read my previous post “Microsoft is Tripping“, you should more or less getting the idea that Microsoft is seeing Open Source Software as its No.1 threat in the market. Until now I have not heard any news about the infringement case, most likely they’ve learned the fact that they do not have a case unless they are willing to publish the “possible” alleged patents.
Today, when I stumbled upon this stunning page of Microsoft, I can’t help but to share it with all of you. I’m not going to make the link active here, please copy and paste if you may.

Go read, and then laugh. I couldn’t help thinking is this a April’s Fool prank page that they forgot to remove? Now they are talking about reliability? Actually I wanted to conduct a detail survey, maybe one or two friends about their Windows 2k, or 2003 servers. How is the performance, the speed, or the reliability. You know, stuffs like that. Unfortunately, after searching my contact list, I couldn’t find anyone is using or maintaining a Windows server.
Okay, maybe you’ll say I’m one tiny prick that cannot afford Microsoft’s product and all I do is whining. You’re right, I cannot afford to buy Windows 95, then Windows 98, then Windows ME, then Windows XP, then Windows Vista, and I also cannot afford, Office 97, then Office XP, then Office 2003 and then Office 2007. There are many others I cannot afford too
- I cannot afford the frustration of BSOD(Blue Screen of Death)
- I cannot afford the stupidity of security hole that let MBLAST to auto shutdown my computer
- I cannot afford the time automatic update has to restart my computer.
- I cannot afford the cost to actually play a DVD on my computer
And so on.
Now you guys really need to get THE REAL FACTS. Google for “company that uses linux” or something like that. Don’t be fooled by this ridiculous page of Microsoft.
Here’s a list I’ve found

Also stumbled upon a blog entry of Sarah, “Everyone uses Linux“. You should visit her dad’s website too. Title of the site reads “free the people, too”, disclaimer of the site reads “This is not a commercial site. I’m not trying to sell you anything. Except maybe the idea that not everything is for sale.”. Pretty much the idea I want to share.

Hello there, Happy April Fool’s Day!!
Three Englishmen were in a bar and spotted an Irishman. So, one of the Englishmen walked over to the Irishman, tapped him on the shoulder, and said, “Hey, I hear your St. Patrick was a drunken loser.”
“Oh really, hmm, didn’t know that.”
Puzzled, the Englishman walked back to his buddies. “I told him St. Patrick was a loser, and he didn’t care.”
The second Englishman remarked, “You just don’t know how to set him off… watch and learn.” So, the second Englishman walked over to the Irishman, tapped him on the shoulder and said, “Hey, I hear your St. Patrick was lying, cheating, idiotic, low-life scum!”
“Oh really, hmm, didn’t know that.”
Shocked beyond belief, the Englishman went back to his buddies. “You’re right. He’s unshakable!”
The third Englishman remarked, “Boys, I’ll really tick him off… just watch.” So the third Englishman walked over to the Irishman, tapped him on the shoulder and said, “I hear St. Patrick was an Englishman!”
“Yeah, that’s what your buddies were trying to tell me.”
A visitor from Holland was chatting with his American friend and was jokingly explaining about the red, white and blue in the Netherlands flag.
“Our flag symbolizes our taxes,” he said. “We get red when we talk about them, white when we get our tax bill, and blue after we pay them.”
“That’s the same with us,” the American said, “only we see stars, too.”
Happy April Fool’s Day!
