WordPress Plugin: Google Sitemap Generator.

Friday, August 3rd, 2007

Every website on the WWW will have to kowtow to Google nowadays, as in comply to their webmaster’s guidelines. Having your site being listed in the supplemental search results is the last thing a webmaster ever wanted, besides being banned by Google Adsense.

So I figured it’s time for me to organize all the posts in this blog and come out with a sitemap, in order to submit to the Google Webmaster Tools. Google Sitemap Generator is one of the top ten results upon Google search.

Upgraded to WordPress 2.2

Monday, May 28th, 2007

Hello all, I feel embarrassed when I see the traffic of this blog still maintaining at the same level while I wasn’t able to update it on a weekly basis. It’s either my pillar posts(those in the popular entries) still pumps in all the traffics, or there’s really someone reading this blog. Either way, I feel bad. I’ll try to squeeze out more time for this blog, life’s being a bitch recently. I wish you all are doing fine if you are reading this.

I have just updated WordPress to version 2.2, this is a mandatory upgrade which means the 2.1.X branch will not be continued. Bloggers, you might want to upgrade your WordPress blog as soon as you can because this version consists of 244 bugs fixed.

Are You A Blogaholic?

Monday, April 30th, 2007

David Wallace at searchrank.com has a post about “10 Signs That You May Be a Blog Addict“. Very funny, but it more or less tells you the behaviors of active bloggers. Here I will list down the 10 signs.

  1. Bloglines, Google Reader or some other RSS reader is constantly open on your computer’s desktop.
  2. You tell customers that you missed a project deadline because “some things” came up but in reality, you were blogging.
  3. You periodically dream that you are blogging.
  4. You get inspiration for new blog posts at the strangest times - in the Jacuzzi, sitting on the toilet, during marital activities (cough, cough)… you get the picture.
  5. Before blogs, you used to tuck the kids into bed at night. Now you check for unapproved blog comments before heading to bed yourself.
  6. In order for your family to keep up with what’s going on in your life, they have to read your blog. Furthermore, if they want to communicate with you, they have to comment on your blog.
  7. You have actually considered setting up a blog for your pet of which you would post the entries pretending you are your pet (weirdo).
  8. You can’t remember dates for your wedding anniversary, kids birthdays, etc., but you know what your Technorati rank is.
  9. You blog about anything and everything including bad meals, your pets, getting your car stuck in snow, conversations you have in the bathroom, etc.
  10. 10. Keeping a blog is no longer enough but you now have to record your every move on Twitter.

How many criteria have you met? Use this as a borderline perhaps, don’t go overboard with any online activity.
