I am back!

Hola everyone! I am back.

Wasn’t able to keep my Debian box up to date because of the nature of my work. Using a Win based laptop at the moment. I still get to play with CentOS Linux though for my web server.

Hopefully I still get free time to update this blog. Don’t worry, I still have a little this and that to share besides Linux. How about some iPhone tricks and tips? I carry a iPhone 4 and I believe I have much to share.

WordPress is now version 3.1.2, can’t believe I started at version 1.x. Give me sometimes to update. I believe the next post will be written from iPhone.

Thank you.

WordPress Upgraded, from manual to Fantastico.

Just upgraded to WordPress version 2.7.1 from 2.6.3. I took a different approach this time. Manual upgrading wordpress has started to bore me since long time ago, and now I hope to get rid of the hassle once and for all, let cpanel’s Fantastico handle the upgrade from now on.

Please bear in mind that this is my very own personal experience. Try this at your own risk!

Situation:
Manually installed wordpress on my hosting account, getting tired of upgrading every new version. Decided to switch to Fantastico install, let it handle the upgrades.

I am guilty!

Gosh it is almost a year since the last update in this blog. Apparently I have lost all the passion for blogging, but I am not sorry for that. We human seem to get addicted to many things, at different times. I am guilty though, for leaving this blog deserted and became a hive of spams. For this I must apologize, I hate spams as much as any of you. I will try my best to filter out stupid spams that bypass Akismet, on a weekly basis hopefully.

Okay since I’m already here, allow me to share with you something that you probably already knew.

WordPress: Upgraded to version 2.2.2

This blog has been updated to version 2.2.2. Only security updates for this release, again it is recommended to upgrade. Please visit the release page here. Details of bugs fixed can be found here. Instructions of upgrading is here.

I would also like to take this chance to introduce you guys a plugin which I have been watching closely, NOT YET installed. WordPress Automatic Upgrade is a plugin brought to you by techie-buzz.com, it will upgrade your wordpress blog automatically. Including download the archive to your web space, replace old files, setting file permissions and more.

As I’ve said I do not use this plugin yet, let’s wait and see. I have a very high expectation on this.

P/S: Please notify me if you find any error after this upgrade.
